Cotswold Transport Planning are a fast-growing company with offices in Cheltenham and Bedford. With varied and specialist job roles within the business, and requirements for remote and office working, they were in need of a dynamic and adaptable IT support company to fit their needs and support their growing user base.
IT support
Day-to-day IT support means that we are on-hand for answering user queries, solving faults, setting up new starters, and managing the internal network and VPN connectivity. Knowing that there is an IT expert just a phone call or email away means that Cotswold Transport Planning's staff and management can focus on the core business and revenue growth.
Backups
One of the first mini projects for our engineers was to review and improve the company's backup solutions. With an on-site Synology NAS already in place, it seemed the obvious choice to extend this to an on-site backup NAS for quick restores of corrupted files or accidental deletions.
We then placed a secondary off-site NAS so that company data that can be restored in the event of a Disaster Recovery situation. Automated alerts are sent to company directors and the Clearwater team for monitoring and remediation. This system provides comprehensive and secure backups with very low on-costs.
Hardware supply and management
With wide and varied requirements for computing power, from office and admin staff to CAD technicians and designers, Cotswold Transport Planning rely on Clearwater IT to recommend the most cost effective IT hardware solutions for the business and their users. Microsoft 365 migration and management
One of the first key projects for Cotswold Transport Planning, when we took over all of their IT support in 2019, was to migrate their email provision from a Hosted Exchange environment to Microsoft 365.
With careful planning and powerful migration tools, the Clearwater team were able to move all email accounts and data to the Microsoft cloud platform over a weekend and set users back up on the following Monday.
Our experts were also able to support the transition to Microsoft 365 and offer advice and support in the adoption new features such as Microsoft Teams for project collaboration and SharePoint Communication sites for a company-wide intranet.
8x8 phone system
They have also adopted a brand new 8x8 phone system supplied and managed by our telecoms partners at Alliance Communications. The new telephony platform allows for full flexibility to ensure that vital client phone calls can be answered, whether in the office or out on site. This new phone system has already proved invaluable during the recent Covid-19 pandemic restrictions.
We have been working with Clearwater IT since the company inception back in 2014. Since 2019, they have been our first point of contact for all of our IT needs.
